See the Sahara Desert on a group tour in Algeria

Discover
Algeria

Algeria is the largest country in Africa, stretching from the Mediterranean to the deep Sahara and with an astonishing diversity that is hard to equal. Our small group tours and private journeys offer the chance to explore a country that has for too long been ignored in favour of its better known neighbours.

From the cities of the coast with their colonial architecture, Roman ruins and cosmopolitan atmosphere to the oases tucked away among mighty sand seas, we encompass the very best that the country has to offer.

A true adventure that goes beyond simply a holiday but leaves an impression that will remain etched into your heart.

Feedback from our Travellers

  • Our driver was very courteous - opening my door at all times. The guide was an archaeologist and very knowledgeable. An honour to be shown the roman ruins by him as he is well known. He took us to Cherchell which was not on the itinerary and I was very grateful as Cherchell was lovely with a good museum.

  • Have travelled with Undiscovered Destinations before and have found them to be very good indeed. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the weather could have been a little better but in fairness this was January. Our driver Said and our guide Yasid were both excellent, professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and kind. They were both a true credit and the various Police Officers covering us in relays between Setif, Constantine and Algiers were very professional, courteous, helpful and kind.

  • Our guide Ahmed was just wonderful; he made the trip for us. He was so knowledgeable that he knew exactly how to organise the trip to best advantage and where to go considering everything was closed for Ramadan!! And he gave up a lot of his valuable festival time at home with his family for us during such an important period. He was an expert on history - both ancient and recent, and he brought the Casbah alive to us with stories about its history and what had occurred there more recently. He had a brilliant personality, was fun and couldn't do enough for us - to e highly recommended and thank you!

Best Time to Visit

The best times to visit Algeria are in the spring and autumn. In the summer all parts, but especially the desert, can be extremely hot, and in the winter the coastal region is wet and cold.
