Angola Tours & Small Group Holidays
Angola tours take you into one of Africa’s last unvisited corners. A country of Portuguese-tiled ports, desert plains and thundering falls, still almost untouched by mainstream tourism.

Angola spent most of the late 20th century closed off by civil war, and that isolation shaped everything you find here today. The country stretches from 1,600 kilometres of Atlantic coast to the edges of the Kalahari, taking in the thundering Kalandula Falls, the bone-dry Namibe Desert and Portuguese colonial architecture that has barely been touched since the 1970s. You’ll meet the Muila and Mucubal people in their home villages, hear Portuguese spoken in Luanda’s tiled back streets, and stand in front of the Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo rock formations looking at a landscape most travellers will never see in person.
Angola is also the African half of a natural pairing. Many of our Angola holidays can be combined with São Tomé and Príncipe, the tiny twin-island nation just off the coast, adding colonial cocoa plantations and tropical rainforest to round off a mainland itinerary.
What you actually get on an Angola group tour is a level of access almost nowhere else in Africa provides. Because tourism is so new here, sites are quiet, hotels are still small and family-run, and your itinerary is built around drivers and tour leaders who know the unmarked turnings off the main roads. Every departure is capped at 12 travellers and escorted throughout by a dedicated English-speaking tour leader. As specialists in escorted small group tours to remote parts of the world, we’ve been refining Angola holiday packages for two decades. Expect long but scenic drives, centrally located hotels in Luanda, Lubango and Namibe, and real time spent with Muila and Mucubal communities rather than quick photo stops.

If you want Angola on its own without the island extension, this is the tour. Thirteen days covers Luanda’s Portuguese quarters, the Serra da Leba mountain pass, the Welwitschia Mirabilis plants and 20,000-year-old rock art of the Namibe Desert, Kalandula Falls, the Pedras Negras and a wildlife day in Kissama National Park. British, US and Australian nationals do not currently require a visa for short tourist visits to Angola. This is a recent change and has transformed how accessible the country feels for travellers. Other nationalities should check current requirements with the nearest Angolan embassy.
Our Angola tours start from £5,495 per person for the 13-day Angola Unveiled and £6,795 per person for the 17-day Angola and São Tomé Explorer. Both prices are based on shared twin-room accommodation in a group capped at 12 travellers, with no compulsory single supplement. A private-room upgrade is available on request (£470 on Angola Unveiled, £770 on the Angola and São Tomé Explorer), and private or tailor-made departures are quoted separately on request.
