Tajikistan Tours & Holidays
Tajikistan tours climb into the Pamir Mountains, where ninety per cent of the country lifts skyward and rural hospitality defines every encounter. The modern world feels reassuringly distant up here.

Tajikistan sits high on the Pamir, Fann and Tien Shan ranges, with around ninety per cent of the country given over to mountain and most of its people still living rural lives in the valleys between. It was once a natural barrier between the empires of China, British India and Russia, fought over in the Great Game and crossed long before by Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan, and that layered past still shapes the cities, fortresses and stupas travellers find on Tajikistan holidays today.
A trip to Tajikistan pairs naturally with our small group Kyrgyzstan tours when following the legendary Pamir Highway, and rewards anyone willing to swap polished infrastructure for genuine isolation, vast horizons and the quiet hospitality of Pamiri families.
Undiscovered Destinations has built a reputation for the kind of remote, mountain-led journeys that Tajikistan rewards, and our guided trips reflect that focus. Our Tajikistan holidays run as small group adventures of up to twelve travellers with English-speaking tour leaders, and most can also be arranged on a private or tailor-made basis through our small group tour specialists for solo travellers, couples and larger parties. Group sizes stay small so homestays, roadside stops and high-altitude detours stay flexible rather than scripted, and the same crews support our Tajikistan trekking tours when itineraries head off the main road. As a bespoke operator we can adjust departure dates, extend itineraries and build in side trips into Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan, drawing on first-hand knowledge of border crossings, Pamiri homestays and the best places to break long mountain drives.

Some inspiration from our blog
Tajikistan currently offers an e-visa for British, US, and Australian citizens, which must be applied for online prior to travel. If your itinerary includes neighbouring countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan, separate entry requirements apply for each destination, and Turkmenistan in particular requires a pre-arranged letter of invitation. Always check the latest visa requirements with the relevant embassy before booking and again closer to your departure date.
Yes. Most of our scheduled routes already pair Tajikistan with Kyrgyzstan along the Pamir Highway, or with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan along the Silk Road. We can also build private extensions into Kazakhstan, Afghanistan-border viewpoints in the Wakhan, or onward travel into Iran for longer regional itineraries when timing and visas allow.
