Unrivalled Natural Diversity
From the dizzying heights of the Altiplano to the lush Amazon basin, Bolivia offers some of the most varied landscapes on Earth.

From the surreal white expanse of the Salar de Uyuni to the vibrant indigenous heart of the Andes, discover South America’s most authentic and diverse frontier.
A country where wildlife and scenery compete for the starring role, Bolivia will astound you with its biodiversity and astonish you with the contrasting landscapes that unfold at every turn. Where the Aymara, the Inca, and the Spanish all left their mark, you’ll find yourself marvelling at the scale of the ruins of Tiwanaku and the colonial grandeur of cities like Sucre and Potosí — once one of the richest cities in the world.
Often overlooked in favour of neighbouring Peru, Bolivia rewards the adventurous traveller with everything you could want from South America — without the crowds. Think lunar mazes of serrated canyons, the exquisite colours of altiplano lagoons, surreal salt flats that come alive in the dipping sun, and steamy Amazonian lowlands.

From the field
Sweet spot: May
The best time to visit Bolivia is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. During these months, the weather is typically clear and sunny, offering the best conditions for exploring the Salar de Uyuni and hiking in the Andes. The rainy season (November to April) can make road travel difficult but creates the famous "mirror effect" on the salt flats.
