Kuang Si Waterfall is an impressive natural highlight located a short distance (an approximate 45-minute drive) from the UNESCO-listed city of Luang Prabang. The Pools and Falls
The waterfall system fans out across multiple levels before reaching a large lower pool where visitors can relax and take a refreshing dip. The colour of the water shifts from pale mint to deep aquamarine depending on the season and light, giving the falls their distinctive appearance. Visitors can explore the full trail above the main falls to reach quieter upper tiers away from the crowds, or simply relax around the cascades
Sun Bear Refuge
Within the Kuang Si grounds sits a rescue centre for Asiatic sun bears, one of the most trafficked animals in the region. The centre rehabilitates bears confiscated from illegal wildlife traders and provides a visible, educational encounter for visitors. It is one of the few places in Laos where travellers can learn directly about wildlife conservation efforts.
